Plus, your child will receive $100 per year until he or she turns 15 years old to a maximum of $2,000 no contributions required. Call 1-800-O-Canada or find out more online at www.canlearn.ca/clb.
Only 23% of Chatham-Kent has taken advantage of the FREE $500 Canada Learning Bond. Each child under this program will receive $500 on enrollment and $100 per year until he or she turns 15 years old to a maximum of $2,000 into an RESP. We would love to see every eligible child in Chatham-Kent with an RESP and this is one way to help make this happen. On the week of November 16th to 20th, we will be celebrating Education Savings Week. This will be a good opportunity to reach these families and gain awareness to this program. Can you help? Contact Employment and Social Services at 519-351-8573 so we can connect or find out more about Education Savings Week events online at www.learnck.ca.

Have you heard about the FREE $500 Canada Learning Bond?
This is available for any child born January 2004 and later that has been receiving the National Child Benefit Supplement. Each child under this program will receive $500 on enrollment and $100 per year until he or she turns 15 years old to a maximum of $2,000.
Currently only 23% of eligible Chatham-Kent families have taken advantage of this opportunity. We would like to see this change.
This is also a great opportunity to start up a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) and access the Canada Education Savings Grant. No matter how much money your family makes, this grant will give you 20% on every dollar of the first $2,500 you save in your child’s RESP each year, to a maximum of $7,500. You can even start a Family RESP where you can save for them all using one RESP account.
The sooner you start saving for your child's education after high school, the more money he or she will have later, since saved money collects interest over time.
Did you know anyone can open an RESP for a child - parents, guardians, grandparent, other relatives or friends? If you have a grandchild, friend or family member that you think would be interested in the Canada Learning Bond or RESP, please forward this email to them.
Looking for brochures or flyers to distribute? We have plenty in stock, simply call 519-351-8573 or email email@example.com to request your copies.
